Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
The purposes of cookies and similar technologies, and the choices available for your website visit.
01About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains the use of cookies and similar technologies in connection with the Zanderbrook Workshop website. It should be read alongside the Privacy Policy, which explains the broader handling of personal information. The website is operated on Shopify, and the technologies involved depend on the theme, platform settings, optional apps and features enabled at the time of your visit.
This policy distinguishes the purposes for which technologies can be used. It does not claim that every cookie category described below is always active, and it does not authorize optional tracking without a choice where consent is required. We update this information when material changes to the relevant website practices require it.
02What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small piece of information a website stores through your browser. It can help the website recognize a session, remember a preference or maintain an essential function. Cookies may be temporary session cookies that end when the session closes or persistent cookies that remain until their expiry or deletion.
Similar technologies include browser storage, pixels and other identifiers used to support a website function or measure an interaction. A pixel can allow a service to register that a page or communication was viewed. Browser storage can preserve a local setting. The relevant privacy rules may apply to these technologies even when they are not technically HTTP cookies.
03First-party and third-party technologies
First-party cookies are associated with the website domain you visit. Third-party technologies may be associated with an independent provider involved in hosting, embedded features, analytics or advertising. Whether a technology is first-party or third-party does not, on its own, determine whether consent is required; its purpose and applicable law matter.
Shopify and any enabled service providers may handle technical information needed to deliver their functions. A provider’s independent processing is subject to its own notices and terms. Adding or removing an app or changing privacy settings can alter the technologies used, so the current configuration must be considered when identifying an individual cookie.
04Strictly necessary functions
Necessary technologies may support page delivery, session integrity, security, fraud prevention, load balancing and the recording of a privacy choice. If account or commerce features are enabled, additional technologies may support those functions. These technologies are limited to purposes needed to operate the relevant service or respect the choice you have made.
Where allowed by applicable law, strictly necessary technologies operate without optional-cookie consent. They should not be repurposed for unrelated advertising simply by being labeled necessary. Disabling them through your browser may prevent some functions from working correctly or prevent the website from remembering a privacy preference.
05Preference and functionality technologies
Preference technologies, where used, can remember settings such as a language choice, a display preference or another convenience feature you select. Their purpose is to make a repeat visit consistent with your choice, rather than to determine the content of an advertising campaign about you.
Whether a preference technology requires consent depends on its function and applicable law. A preference that you explicitly request may be treated differently from a general convenience tracker. Where optional preference storage is offered, you can manage it through the available consent or privacy controls and your browser.
06Analytics and performance measurement
Analytics technologies, if enabled, can help measure page use, navigation paths, loading problems and aggregate patterns of interaction. The data may include technical identifiers, page requests, time of visit, device characteristics and referring information. The purpose is to understand and improve the website, subject to the applicable permissions and provider settings.
Optional analytics should operate only after consent where required. The presence of an analytics category in this policy is not a statement that a particular analytics service is installed. An analytics provider’s actual processing, retention and handling of identifiers must be assessed from the provider and configuration used.
07Advertising and attribution technologies
Advertising technologies, if enabled, may measure an advertising interaction, connect a visit with a campaign or support audience selection. They can involve an advertising provider receiving technical identifiers and information about an interaction. In some jurisdictions this activity may be regulated as targeted advertising, a sale or sharing of personal information.
Our work creating advertisements for clients is separate from advertising tracking on our own website. Producing a Meta, TikTok or YouTube creative does not automatically install that platform’s tracking technology here. If optional advertising technology is introduced, it must be accompanied by the appropriate notices, choices and consent or opt-out handling under the applicable rules.
08Information associated with cookies
Depending on the technology, cookie-related information may include a session identifier, a saved setting, browser or device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, visited pages or an interaction timestamp. This information can be personal information when it identifies or can reasonably be linked to a person or device.
Cookies should not be used to store the full text of a confidential creative brief, passwords or full payment card details. Information you provide for a project is handled for the relevant project purpose under the Privacy Policy and any agreed confidentiality terms. A preference about optional tracking does not prevent you from asking about a service.
09Consent and website privacy controls
Where required, optional cookies and similar technologies should remain inactive until you make the relevant choice. If a cookie banner or privacy preference panel is available for your visit, use it to accept or decline optional categories or change an earlier selection. Necessary technologies may remain active to operate the website and remember that selection.
Your choice should be respected for the relevant browser and device. Consent may need to be requested again after a material technology change, expiry of the preference, deletion of browser storage or a change in applicable requirements. Withdrawing optional consent should be as accessible as providing it. A general Terms of Service acceptance is not treated as a substitute for a separate consent choice where one is required.
10Browser settings and signals
Most browsers allow you to inspect stored cookies, delete them, block categories or limit third-party storage. The settings and effects differ by browser. You can consult your browser’s privacy and security controls to make these changes. Deleting cookies may also delete the website’s record of your previous choice and require you to set it again.
If your browser sends a legally recognized privacy preference signal, such as a signal addressing certain advertising disclosures, it should be handled where applicable law requires and for the relevant processing. A generic browser setting may not stop every form of technical communication, and a ‘Do Not Track’ preference is not treated identically in all legal frameworks. Contact us if you need help understanding the available choices for a specific activity.
11Duration and the current cookie inventory
Session technologies generally end when the session closes. Persistent technologies remain until their stated expiry, deletion or replacement. The actual duration depends on the individual technology and provider. We do not assign one universal retention period to all cookies, because operational, preference and optional measurement technologies can have different lifetimes.
The most accurate inventory reflects the current Shopify configuration and enabled integrations. Where the website’s privacy interface provides provider or duration details, those details should correspond to the active technologies. You may also inspect cookie information in your browser. Contact us to ask about a particular cookie name or purpose; include the name and relevant page rather than the value of a sensitive identifier.
12Choices across devices and external services
A choice made in one browser usually does not automatically apply to another device, another browser or an independent provider’s site. You may need to repeat your preferences for each environment. Clearing browser data, using private browsing or switching devices can also change which preference record is available.
If you choose to use an independent service for payments, file access or communications, that service may use its own technologies. Our settings cannot necessarily control its separate website. Review that provider’s privacy options when you interact with it. This does not remove our responsibility to configure technologies used on our website appropriately.
13Updates and questions
We may revise this policy when the website configuration, service providers or relevant rules change. The date above identifies the current version. A material change that requires a renewed choice should be presented through the appropriate consent or privacy process, rather than applied only by changing this page.
For questions about cookies, browser preferences or a particular provider, contact Zanderbrook Workshop using the details below. Explain the issue and the browser or device involved. Please do not send passwords, full payment information or the full contents of a personal identifier cookie.
